News of the World lawyer sent investigator to catch phone hacking lawyers having affair

The chief lawyer for the defunct News of the World tabloid sent a private investigator to find proof that two other lawyers acting for phone hacking victims were having an affair, in order to gain “leverage” against them, a tribunal has heard.
